Who is the HWH?
Samantha Michaels started this private tutoring service she called
"The Homework
Helper" while attending Douglas College in 1997. Samantha not only has 12 years of
relevant tutoring experience, but is also a Certified Tutor (Certified at Douglas College in April 1998)
and has an English Degree and Liberal Arts Certificate from Simon Fraser University,
graduating June 2003. Besides tuoring in her area of specialty, English, Samantha has also
tutored a vast diversity of courses, including English as a Second Language, Psychology,
Sociology, Biology, Anthropology, Communication, Linguistic, Kineisology and Educaion courses,
and also useful resource skills such as Test Taking Strategies and Time Management Skills.
Samantha is also a Certified Technical Writer (from SFU, 2006), a published writer and a
Certified BC Middle School Teacher (UBCO 2008) and has also worked as a substitute
teacher at the elementary level at a private Christian school for grades Kindergarten to grade six.
Samantha has in the past and is capable in the present of tutoring clients from
grade school to university levels.
